Hi Andie,
I've done some research into the Scandinavian World Tree Yggdrasill. Actually, I love any mythology related to trees, and there's a lot of it. I have a slide show & talk I've given on that subject a few times. Unfortunately, it's in old technology--real slides--and a hassle to convert. Otherwise, I'd post it somewhere. Roz

Thanks for asking. This is a carving from an Anglo Saxon (Viking) tomb, depicting Odin (principal god of the Norse pantheon) riding Sleipnir (pronounced "shlaypnear"), his 8-legged horse. I think that the mythology surrounding Sleipnir is particularly interesting, and certainly subject to wide conjecture and interpretation. Sleipnir is the only means for the living to enter the world of the dead, and some have posited that the 8 legs are really 2 sets of 4 - 4 for traversing the land of the living, and 4 for the underworld. I love Scandinavian mythology, horses, and celtic knotwork, and would like for my next tattoo to be of this picture!

Hi Andie,

Yes, I am slowly trying to embrace technology. By the way, what is the significance of your photograph? Is that some celtic carving?

Hi Andie,

This is year 14 for me @ BTC. I sure hope you would find me and introduce yourself.

I am sure I speak for most on campus...don't be afraid to identify yourself (more than one to some of us...we might be slow learners) so that we can get to know you better.

Regards,
