I am relatively new to learning in an online environment. I have been experimenting with ExamView quizzes delivered over our local network and via Blackboard. I will be offering (I hope) an online version of Psych 111, our Interpersonal and Organizational Psychology course during Spring 08.
What would you like to gain from participating in this network?
I am looking to learn from the experience of others: what to do, what to avoid, how best to modify a face to face class for an online environment, etc. I hope to be an active member of a community of learners.
What would you like to contribute to this network?
Thus far I've encountered a number of 'challenges' in working with the technology. I am not the most sophisticated techno-user, so I'm willing to own up to my share of operator errors.
As such, I believe I am a good 'case study' for this group. Other e-learners to follow will probably bring similar levels of anxiety and sophistication (a polite way of saying, 'I don't know what I'm doing with all of this online stuff and I'm pretty freaked out by it all...').
So if Carl is struggling with a tool, chances are others are (or will be) too. And if we can get Carl to understand a tool or technique, then there is hope for the masses. To this network, I contribute my blank slate.

Likewise, Carl! BTC is certainly in the avant garde when it comes to all-campus technology. I'm impressed, and eager to learn from your ning.
I did write to your deans about our stories project, by the way, but perhaps I made a mistake with the addresses, since I haven't heard back from any of them. I'll probably try again one of these days.

Happy Wednesday!

Good to see you here, rather than just over lunch all the time :)
