What would you like to contribute to this network?
Whatever I can that might be of use to its members--perhaps articles and e-mails that have stimulated my own thoughts and might do the same for others.
Thanks for writing! I hadn't considered the in-camera option for changing the size of files. I do know that I'm using "SD" instead of "HD," which cuts down on file size, but I'll check to see if there's perhaps another further way to reduce things via the camera. I don't recognize what a "director account" is, but I'll follow your link and find out. :-)
Meanwhile, someone else told me about a semi-free Windows-based program from www.avs4you.com which will shrink video files to about 20% from QuickTime to WMV format. It projects a flashing logo on the resulting films, but it gets the job done. For $59.95, it's possible to purchase the software and a whole bunch of other programs from avs4you.com, I believe--but I don't have a budget for that, at least for the time being.
I know when I use my cam, it gives me options in the production software to change the file type and quality. Mine came with CyberLink PowerDirector, but I don't know if that's free. You can also do a youtube director account. http://www.youtube.com/blog?entry=4KWKYZN7znU

Thank you again for the good idea!

Welcome. I haven't checking in here for several weeks, but what a nice surprise to discover you found this group.
